News from the second project highlight in our water infrastructure series!

Slightly different project to our last showcase. Difference being this time the applications took place in a potable water pipeline cross over chamber. Accessibility and workspace is somewhat less than the Reservoir chamber previously seen.

As previously showcased, Oxifree TM198 was used to preserve valves, flanges and bolted connections in the underground access chambers, environments that demand reliability and resilience. The result - Jewel Welding Fabrication and Coatings Ltd. are highly experienced Oxifree trained technicians and they completed the project on schedule and to a very high quality standard.

The bolted mechanical connections and gate valves used on drinking water supply pipelines are housed in compact underground chambers, where they are constantly exposed to humid conditions and thus experience oxidisation.

The challenges of these environments are exactly why our client chose us:

  • Minimal to no surface prep – no need for blasting avoiding environmental contaminants and significant clean up and disposal operations.

  • Confined space - easy application even with limited accessibility, specialist Oxifree equipment was able to operate above ground in open air with long hose down into chamber for excellent ease of application.

  • No VOCs – keeping personnel safe in the chamber at all times during and post application.

Oxifree TM198 Anti-Corrosion Thermoplastic (ACT) allows the infrastructure to remain in excellent operational condition and can be re accessed for inspection and maintenance purposes at any time in the future.
