Pipelines
Pipeline Assets using Oxifree TM198 is highly effective for protecting pipeline valves, fittings, clamps, and pipe supports because it provides 100% encapsulation without adhering to the metal surface.
By acting as a flexible, form-fitting shield infused with active organic corrosion inhibitors, it directly solves the unique maintenance and operational challenges that complex, moving, and high-friction pipeline components face.

Key Technical & Financial Advantages
Active Corrosion Inhibitors: The thermoplastic resin contains active organic oils that immediately wet the metal surface upon application. This stops existing rust in its tracks and forms a permanent barrier against salt spray, UV, and moisture.
Zero Process Downtime: The coating can be applied directly to live equipment. Pipelines do not need to be shut down, avoiding massive operational losses.
Minimal Surface Preparation: Unlike traditional epoxy coatings that require extensive, abrasive sandblasting, TM198 only requires a basic commercial wire-brushing (St2 standard) to remove loose rust before application.
Easy Inspection & Maintenance: Instead of scraping away permanent coatings to check asset health, operators can perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) directly through the TM198 material. If physical access is needed, it can be cut away like rind, and the gap can simply be "refilled" by spraying more molten resin, which perfectly bonds to the old layer.
Extreme Longevity: It provides up to 10+ years of active protection in harsh offshore and coastal environments, passing over 11,688 hours of ASTM B117 salt spray testing.
Component | Why Traditional Coatings Fail | How Oxifree TM198 Solves It |
Valves & Moving Parts | Rigid paints crack or seize moving internal/external mechanisms, leading to operation failures or leaks. | Non-Adherent & Self-Lubricating: It forms a tight seal around the profile but does not stick to the metal. Components can expand, contract, and move normally inside the coating without breaking the seal. |
Fittings & Clamps | Complex geometries (bolting, crevices, sharp angles) make uniform paint application difficult, creating moisture traps. | Complete Conformal Encapsulation: Applied as a molten liquid (via Oxifree Polymelt systems), it flows perfectly into uneven contours, threads, and gaps, freezing into a 4mm pliable shield that entirely eliminates air and water ingress. |
Pipe Supports (CUPS) | Heavy friction, weight loading, and moisture traps create severe Corrosion Under Pipe Supports (CUPS). | Active Ingress Barrier: It completely insulates the metal-to-metal or steel-to-concrete interface, arresting existing corrosion and preventing galvanic pitting or moisture traps from forming. |
